Multicultural Church Sydney: What Really Matters if your Church is Multicultural?

We are instructed that on the day of Pentecost, people from a variety of nationalities and language groups have been miraculously engaged with the message of the risen Christ in words that they might recognize.
That is perceived as more than simple pragmatics, however a powerful symbol of the gospel this is supposed to engage and unite humans from throughout traditional racial, ethnic and political divides.
Multicultural Church Sydney works for the advantage of all cultures, as lot of their senior Pastors also belong to these diverse cultures of Australia.
More recently, we have particularly recognized that it is not enough for the church of Jesus Christ to simply comprise the diversity of our human race, however, that human beings want to be included, valued and respected equally within it.
This has required some serious self-examinations and an intentional commitment to throw off the prejudices and assumptions of our culture and accept other views and traditions as being of equal worth to our own.
As we reflect on some of the modern developments in Western society, we might well argue there has never been a more important time to seek to be a prophetic presence that challenges the narratives of division, prejudice and what is generally defined as “othering.”
Multicultural church Sydney has some very ¨actual opportunities and obligations to be a real beacon of hope.
No longer by modeling wholesome community, but through providing itself as a catalyst for community building in wider society.
Being a multicultural church force us to strip away the accepted cultural behaviors of local churches and ask what really matters.
